As you all might know, from time to time, I enjoy getting Tarot readings. Here's one I got today, asking the Tarot the question: 'Will I heal from SSRI damage in the next 6-9 months?" [aka February-May next year]. Here's the results.
"The card not shown but at the center of the cross, represents the atmosphere surrounding the central issue. King of Swords: The essence of air, such as a clear blue sky: A mature leader of unwavering ethics and indisputable authority. An incorruptible judge, whose devotion to the law cannot be swayed by emotion or material concerns. Perfect clarity of thought, directness of action, and eloquence of speech. One who, like a great general, inspires not love or devotion, but absolute trust and loyalty."
This is true, somewhat. I had absolute trust and loyalty in my doctors and that's at the root of this issue.
"The card visible at the center of the cross represents the obstacle that stands in your way - it may even be something that sounds good but is not actually to your benefit. Strength, when reversed: Weakness in the face of obstacles and adversity. Tremendous power released at the wrong moment. Inability to defend oneself. Confusion, and lack of preparedness. Illness, hardship, distress and the failing of physical force. Dominant behavior, abusiveness and a possible loss of reputation."
I couldn't explain this better myself. This is exactly what does stand in my way.
"The card at the top of the cross represents your goal, or the best you can achieve without a dramatic change of priorities. King of Cups, when reversed: The dark essence of water behaving as air, such as rain clouds in a gray sky: A pillar of maturity and patience, hiding a deep insecurity and an indecisive nature. One who secretly lusts for power, but lacks the courage, intellect, or work ethic necessary to take it. A charming seducer who appears innocent and understanding, but is in fact selfish and unfaithful."
Yep, this is exactly right, in almost every way. Starting to get creeped out.
"The card at the bottom of the cross represents the foundation on which the situation is based. Queen of Swords: The essence of air behaving as water, such as a refreshing mist: A person gifted with both keen logic and natural intuition, giving them uncanny powers of perception and insight. One who easily sees past deception and confusion to the heart of a matter, and understands both sides of any argument. The embodiment of calm, forthrightness, and wit, in the face of even the most trying circumstances."
Yep, this is me!
"The card at the left of the cross represents a passing influence or something to be released. The High Priest: Faith in tradition and the old school. A justified and ancient source of power. Being supportive, sympathetic and loyal. Receiving instructions, learning, guidance or inspiration. The ability to hear a higher or inner voice. May also indicate a religious ritual, such as a marriage or an initiation."
Right in some ways. I am supportive and loyal to a lot on these forums, or I really try to be. You all think so, right?
"The card at the right of the cross represents an approaching influence or something to be embraced. The Emperor: Worldly authority and power. Social mastery and oratory. One who is intelligent, experienced, confident and reasonable. A patriarch or primary male influence. The motive force of politics and society. The ability to fulfill plans and use mental control over the emotions."
An ability to control emotions! That's a new one. I can think of my history teacher, who is intelligent and helpful at all times and he is all of the words described above. Again, getting creeped out.
"The card at the base of the staff represents your role or attitude. Justice: The achievement of balance and inner harmony after a great trial. Agreements, contracts, or treaties concluded justly. Things set to rights. Karma restored. A turn for the better in legal matters."
YAY! I GET TO HELP PEOPLE! WOOHOO JUSTICE! Sorry about that.
"The card second from the bottom of the staff represents your environment and the people you are interacting with. Wheel of Fortune: The path of destiny. Karma on a grand scale. An unexpected turn of good fortune. A link in the chain of events. Success, luck, and happiness."
I really hope this is true. I need some fortune.
"The card second from the top of the staff represents your hopes, fears, or an unexpected element that will come into play. Queen of Pentacles, when reversed: The dark essence of earth behaving as water, such as ice: A cold but generous host, driven by an overwhelming need for to accumulate and maintain opulence. A person so preoccupied with wealth and security that they can never stop to enjoy either. One who reflects the weaknesses of others, breeding suspicion and mistrust."
Oh no! This is not very good.
"The card at the top of the staff represents the ultimate outcome should you continue on this course. Knight of Wands: The essence of fire, such a great conflagration. One filled with vitality and passion for life. A sexy and exciting person, daring in their actions, cocky in their attitude, and utterly without fear. Absolute sincerity, coupled with violent emotions that swing wildly from one extreme to another. Boundless creativity and lust for a change of both pace and place. The rapid approach, or more likely departure, of something that sets your world ablaze. Often suggests travel or escape."
This sounds awesome....wait a minute, violent emotions? More reason to believe in that astrological report that says that I will have increasingly intense emotions next year. I hope so.
